Photography

My photography has its beginnings in the loss and erosion of the Littoral zone. That is the intertidal area or near shore. I began to notice ever increasing eroded fragments of the shoreline on Jervis Bay where I live. This led to me developing a much larger series of work exploring my connection to place and the environment and my interpretation of erosion and disintegration. The deep orange colourings that I find at sunset in the Bay captivate me, they link to the lichens that I also am drawn to photograph. I gravitate to texture and often say ‘I travel a gravel road’.
